Dorking Museum
Dorking Museum & Heritage Centre re-opened in 2012 after extensive refurbishment. The Museum now provides a 21st century interactive and multi-sensory experience. There are things to touch, to listen to and smell, things to puzzle over and costumes to try on.
Archives
Dorking Museum & Heritage Centre houses an outstanding archive collection of books, maps, photographs and postcards, plus documents and directories that are regularly consulted by biographers, historians and journalists as well as by local and family researchers.
Learning and the community
We work with schools, youth groups, clubs, health services, local community groups and care homes to involve all sections of society in an understanding of the history of their area.
We offer talks, walks, activities and visits, resources for reminiscence, and loan boxes for schools. We also run drop-in family activity afternoons.
The gift shop features the work of local artists as well as providing a selection of books and gifts with a local interest.
